Bodegas Ruconia is an ambitious project which in 1986 saw the Sáenz de Santa María family, who have been involved in viticulture for more than a century, purchase a Winery called Nuestra Señora de la Antigua located in Arenzana de Abajo (La Rioja), together with an important amount of vineyards in Cenicero. In 2000 a new winery was built in Nájera and the estate renamed Bodegas Ruconia.

The Bodegas Ruconia Reserva 2005 has all the hallmarks of great Rioja with ripe berry fruit, savoury tones, spice, vanillin oak and a long finish.
